A Community of People I Love!
Since becoming a mother, I have opened up my life to a continuously growing group of moms. Teaching Stroller fitness classes and a mom's boot camp style class, organizing a mother's group, starting a baby boutique, and becoming friends with an overwhelming number of local mothers.
This group of moms is dedicated to helping each other out, listening, sharing and understanding. Being a mom is the best job in the world and it is also a huge responsibility. It can be overwhelming, isolating and frustrating. Every moms needs someone to share with, who can understand her joys and frustrations and quite frankly MOST dad just don't get it and grandparents forget.
Just a thought I wanted to share. If you are a moms of young ones, look for a group near you. Google mother's groups. I use Meetup, big tent and facebook for the most part, but there are many places to look. Don't be alone, you don't have to be.

A Stroller Update - 2 Years Later
Over the past year I have been asked many time and have had friends refer people to me, for finding the perfect stroller for two children.
I had a bit of a stroller obsession and if my oldest (now 3.5) would still enjoy being in the stroller more I would still be obsessed. He will still sit in the stroller for jogging, and Stroller Strides classes, but other then that would rather walk/ run any day.
My last post of of 3 (The Perfect Stroller For Two, Another Stroller Hunt, and Finding The Perfect Stroller For Two Is A Tough Job.)was over 2 years ago. What is still in my collection and what do I think now? Well, I have held onto Phil and Ted Sport with the doubles kit. My kids still fit and ride in it. My oldest actually prefers the back seat. When I am jogging I have him sit in the front though. It is much easier to push with the heavier child in front. I won't lie I did sell my first Phil and Ted Sport.
I purchased the two nicer models.. The Dash and the Vibe and returned both for a new Sport. The braking systems on the nicer models needs to be worked out.
The Dash: to break this stroller you need two hands and have to ratchet the handle bar down. If you have a handle bar console of sorts all of the contents still onto the child in the back seat and let's be honest. Who has two hands to brake a stroller when you are out and about with two children??
The Vibe: to brake this stroller there is a button in the center of the handle bar. If you are steering with one hand you WILL undoubtedly, accidentally, and often hit that button causing the stroller to brake suddenly and giving whiplash to your children. NOT SUPER SAFE in my opinion.
After returning both models, I bought myself a newer Sport version and have used this since. So Phil and Ted has occupied a space in my trunk for going on 3 years. I use it often and have taken it on vacations with us as well.
While my kids are getting bigger and have a need to be in the Stroller during my Stroller Strides classes and again when I am jogging (a fairly new activity for me 2nd year doing Couch to 5K)I decided to move up in the world and go for a monster stroller. I purchased a Bob Duallie Revolution for the second time. If you read in an earlier post. I had bought this and returned it because although the ride was smooth and perfect, the stroller is HUGE and heavy and made me feel like I was pushing a small car in front of me. I have gotten over it. I don't use it indoors and still hate putting it in and out of my car BUT for outdoor use and older children it was well worth the cost (for a second time).
Both of my boys have gotten up and are harassing me, so I will wrap up here, but I have tried most of the strollers on the market until recently.
My 3 favorites for MY life style or an active lifestyle are
Phil and Ted Sport with the double kit, Bob Duallie Revolution, and
Baby Jogger City Mini (not a jogger stroller at all but great for walking indoor and out and SUPER light weight and easy to manage!)from an earlier post
Good luck on your journey to find the perfect stroller!

REGISTRATION IS UNDERWAY!
Registration is underway for Stroller Strides of Wilmington. These classes offer both fitness and support for new moms.
Stroller Strides offers a great combination of getting fit after the baby while enjoying the support of other moms experiencing the newness, joys and challenges of motherhood.
Stroller Strides is a fitness program that enables new moms to incorporate their baby and their stroller. In a 60-minute workout, moms improve their cardiovascular endurance, strength and flexibility. Classes are arranged according to members’ ability and needs.
Having a group of parents who are going through the same amazing and exhausting experience of living with a baby is so important. If you have a great support system, everything else, including fitness, is so much easier.
Stroller Strides of Wilmington also offers a running club, weekly playgroups and monthly mom’s nights out.
Visit StrollerStrides.net/northwilmington to sign up or contact Christina Bentley at christinabentley@strollerstrides.net.

Freaking Out a Bit about Event Tomorrow!
I am holding an event tomorrow morning "Fall Into Fitness" with a raffle to help a local mom with Lymphoma.
I had planned on about 20-30 people and bought food, banana, bagels with cream cheese, pretzels, mini cup cakes, juice, water and coffee to cover that amount.
I even got a cake donated, done up really nice with fondant to look like leaves with acorns scattered around~!
I stuffed 25 gift bags with free goodie and coupons and beyond the raffle stuff, I have a donation table with some other smaller free goodies.. Dunkins travel ,mugs, patriots koozies, donated Frisbees and jump ropes, glow necklaces and more.
There will be face painting, stories, and coloring for the kids as well as some tunnels and tents for the little guys to crawl through.
Anyway. I just heard from a friend that this has been in the paper for the last 2 WEEKS~!!
I advertised on Craigslist, local chat boards and with moms groups, hung flyers and just yesterday sent a press release.
There is also an event going on right up the street at a church(walking distance) that I may get some spill over from.
I have more then 20 who RSVPed on the sites that I can get RSVP's and now I am freaking out that there will be way more then I can handle!
Just had to vent. Wish me luck!

Had a visit with MK Boxing
Let me just say; this is a very neat place!!! If you have not seen it and are in the area they offer some great classes. You can see some of it on the website, click here They have a boxing ring, lots of bags, a small gym area with machines and weights and two mat areas for classes like kick boxing. It would be great for the class and give us lots of options for what direction to take to our stations.
I am excited to sign some of us from the moms group up for a Saturday class. I am betting that those classes would more then kick my rear end into shape!
Lots of women work out there too! There was a women preparing for a workout when I was headed out. IF my kids were not getting hungry I would have stayed to watch some of the class that was going to be starting. Mike was very nice and seems to have a great sense of humor. At least he didn't seem annoyed by my boys :)
Now with a few options it will be time to negotiate and make some decisions. I am fairly sure Wilmington will remain M-W-F at 9:30 and Woburn will open for T-Th at 9:30. If you know anyone in the area that is ACE or AFFA certified group fitness instructors or someone who wants to go be trained for Stroller Strides in CA direct them my way because I will need someone at the very least as a sub.

We made the front page and a picture of the boys!
We made the front page of the local paper! I have yet to see it because I do not get that paper and I was expecting it to be later.
I was told today it was in last weeks paper so I have requested an issue. I am so thrilled about it! Let hope it does us justice :)
And here is a new picture of the boys. They are so darn cute! Landon smiles, giggles, crawls backwards, and says bubba. Logan is obsessed with "choo choos", truck and cars. and most recently has been calling bunnies "bum bums". Too cute~!

My Class will be in the local town paper!
Today during my morning class at the park we had stopped for one of our stations and where in the middle of our cadio drill and I see a woman with a rather large camera hustling over to our group. I prepared everyone and asked if anyone minded being photographed. No one was opposed to it so when she approached I let her ask ;) She though it was fantastic that we were working out with the babies in toe. She asked us to repeat some jumping jacks and she snapped a bunch of photos. I gave her my card and we moved into our push ups and tricep dips. She stayed and took more pictures.
I was amused by it and at the same time thrilled to be advertised in the Town Crier. Now if I can just find what day we will be in it. I barely ever find time to read papers but I will have to for the next few weeks!

Securing Locations for BePe Stroller Strides Classes
It looks like my hopes of holding classes in Tewksbury and Woburn by next Fall is going to be tweaked a bit. I will be holding classes in Wilmington through the Summer as they are going now.. M-W-F 9:30 AM outdoors and moving indoors in the Fall. We will be using CATZ (Creative Athletic Training Zone) on Concord Street in Wilmington! Pretty cool place for those of you who don't like or can't motivate your selves to use the typical gyms as often as you should. We will be able to keep the same schedule and they are even open to giving the little guys a little free time to play after. they also offer some great nutritional information and courses which I hope to be able to tap into with my group!
My second location is still not completely secured. For the outdoor times, I have spoken with Whole Foods in Woburn and they are happy to have us use their lot/store as a meeting place (if I can sort out a nice quiet place to move to for the classes) and are offering to work with us so that their weekly story times coincide with our classes end time so we can let the kids be a part of it. They mey be offering some mommy type workshops too. Like how to make your own baby food or similar type of themed days.. Also how great is that to get your food shopping done right before heading home!!!! Talk about convenience. I mean shoot I am out, both of the boys are already packed up and with me, what great timing! If that doesn't excite you , they have a cafe area we can all sit and have a snack and a small play area for the kids!
I have talked with Extra Innings (in Woburn) and could work something out possibly for later classes starting at 11:00. I think that is a tad bit late for me since it would end up being a super late lunchtime.
Today I met with Athletic Evolution (in Woburn), they are similar to CATZ but larger and have a bit more to offer,like a mini ice rink, batting cages indoors and gym machines and weights. We may be able to work with them and have use of the space in the mornings during the week. I hope to hear back from them soon.
Next week I will meet with one last place, MK Boxing (also in Woburn),and I hopefully can figure something out after that.
I am looking forward to have this all sorted out and focusing on other areas of the classes~!

Stroller Strides in MA
Click anywhere in the following text to see more info about my Stroller Strides classes. My Stroller Strides business is moving forward. I leave the first week in May to go for my training and have been studying when ever I find the time. I am really happy that I choose to start this up. I have lost close to 10 pounds in the 3 months I have been taking classes and I feel so much better. My boys get to come along and be a part of it, so I never have to find a sitter or leave them in a gym daycare.
My classes are scheduled to start the end of May. M-W-F at 9:30 in the morning. I think Stroller Strides is a ton of fun and I have enjoyed taking classes and meeting the other moms. Plus it really has helped me to increase my energy (so I can keep up with my boys), and work on getting my figure back.
Ok just like anything it is scary to first show up for everyone, but once you do you will love it.. The first class is always free and to my first few interested registrants I will be offering a free week of classes so you can really get a feel for it before you have to purchase a membership.
Also I know all the excuses for not just doing it, because I used them all myself.
~~~My baby naps during that time(so does mine) but naps change so often through the first year if I always scheduled around both of their naps I would never leave the house. babies (especially little ones) are flexible or more so then adults.
~~~It's too early in the morning for me. Love this one I used it too, but now that I am up and moving it is great for us because we feel better and get the entire rest of the day to get things done and make plans.
~~~My toddler hates the stroller. So does mine at times. I bring toys, snacks and sometimes he still complains. After a month or so he got used to it and now he behaves for most of the class only wanting to get out during the abbs work out at the end.. At that point, if we are in a safe spot I let him run around a bit near me so he loves going to class now too.
~~~I don't have a jogging stroller. Well you don't need one. It is nice and some do decide to buy one if they get into the work outs but Even umbrella strollers have been used just fine in the classes I have gone to. However for the first 5 memberships purchased for my group I will be putting your name into a raffle for a Bob, Stroller Strides Jogging Stroller!!!! It is an awesome jogger and some lucky winner is going to be so in love with it :)
As part of the Luna Moms Groups, I host play dates and moms nights. My first play date was today! Check out my Meetup for more info.. Stroller Strides and Luna Moms Club have partnered to offer some great community outlets for moms and babies!

Do you have a baby, want to work out and you live in the area?
I am looking into opening a Stroller Strides Franchise and would be offering classes Mon, Wed and Fridays at 9:30 in the morning.
Located in or near Wilmington MA.
It is cardio and a full body work out for 60 minutes where you bring your stroller and babies along rather then dropping them at a gym daycare. Moms meet other moms, help to motivate one another, and have a chance to get to know other moms and work out at the same time. At the end of classes We can let those babies run wild and meet new friends.
Before diving in head first I want to get a feel for who may be interested and in the area.
Classes will have many pay options including pay per class and monthly memberships.
you can find more info about what the classes entail ~~~~ Click Here
